3D modelling and printing

Alongside graphic design, photography and artistic projects, I also create 3D models and prints using a range of plastic materials, including small replacement parts. For a particular need or project, you are welcome to email me to discuss what may be possible.

A keyboard foot: from measurements to a 3D print

A broken foot on my keyboard became a small reconstruction project: from the original part to a digital model, then a replacement printed in black PLA.

Taking measurements

I measured the original part with a caliper and recorded its dimensions in five drawings, providing a reference for reconstructing its shape.

Modelling in Fusion

In Autodesk Fusion, I recreated the foot’s profile, cut-outs and pivot pins, then prepared the model for printing in the slicing software.

Printing and checking

After printing, I checked the part again with a caliper. It did not need any sanding.
