About me

Igor De Guglielmo

Different experiences, ideas to share

I’m Igor De Guglielmo, a teacher, photographer, videographer, and developer of websites and applications. Ideas in the Mix brings together my professional background, the books I write, the projects I am building and the interests that are part of my life.

Four illustrated students study together: they examine a geometric model, use a computer and work in a notebook.

Teaching and making ideas clear

I hold a degree in Economics and Finance. I teach mathematics, business studies and computing. In Milan, I worked for five years at the Leonardo da Vinci school complex in Via Cagnola and for two years at Istituto Maria Consolatrice. At the ACME Academy of Fine Arts, I taught photography, digital imaging and audiovisual subjects for five years.

My background also includes computing training in Cagliari and photography courses for adults at UTES in Sestu. Today I create learning materials and offer tutoring and study support in Cagliari, the surrounding area and online throughout Italy.

From an interest in computers to working on the web

My history with computers began at the age of ten with a VIC-20, followed by the Commodore 64, Amiga and PCs. Today I develop websites, e-commerce sites, software and applications, and provide IT consultancy for individuals and businesses. As a young person, I completed a two-year vocational qualification in computing as an Office Automation Operator.

I bring together technical skills, content and visual communication: a project should be clear, readable and easy to use. My experience in administration and bookkeeping is also part of this professional background.

Photography, video and stories to tell

I continue to work as a photographer and videographer, offering photography for ceremonies, celebrations and events. My background includes photographic work at Auchan in Cagliari and Pirri, shared exhibitions and cultural activities with Arte Zenit.

Ajopix is my photography project connected with Sardinia: it brings together working with images and the enjoyment of experiencing and observing my home island.

Movement, culture and Sardinia

I hold several certificates in fitness and personal training (FIF, ELAV, AICS). I have worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer and helped organise cultural and sporting activities. Sport remains a passion: trekking, cycling, canoeing and SUP are different ways to experience the landscape.

In summer I enjoy exploring the coast from the sea; in other seasons I return inland, among nuraghi, giants’ tombs and domus de janas. In the portal, these experiences connect with photography and my interest in Sardinian history.

Books and projects I am developing

I continually update and develop my skills in teaching, computing, economics, fitness, photography, graphic design and illustration. Writing and development bring new ideas to life. Each project has its own page, presenting its purpose and current stage.
